BAPS Hindu Mandir Abu Dhabi Announces Dates and Guidelines for Diwali Celebrations
- October 09, 2025
Abu Dhabi: The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi has announced the key dates and guidelines for its upcoming Diwali celebrations. The temple will open its doors to the public on Monday, October 20, to mark the Festival of Lights with prayers, cultural performances, and devotional events — a rare occasion, as the Mandir is usually closed on Mondays.
According to the temple management, a series of cultural and devotional programs will be held daily from October 18 to 26, culminating in post-Diwali festivities.
Dhanteras Celebrations – October 18
The celebrations will begin with Dhanteras on Saturday, October 18. An online Dhan Puja will be held from 7:20 p.m. to 8:20 p.m., allowing families to participate virtually from home to seek blessings for prosperity and well-being.
Preparation guidelines are available on the temple’s official website, and the live webcast link will be shared on the day of the event.
Main Diwali Day – October 20
The main Diwali celebration will take place on Monday, October 20, under the theme “Lighting the Path with Love and Spirituality.”
- Mandir Darshan: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Diwali Puja: 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The Mandir management encouraged devotees to visit with family and friends to offer prayers and seek divine blessings for the New Year. Registration is required for the evening Puja.
“Diwali is a time to seek divine blessings and renew bonds of love and faith. Bring your loved ones, offer your prayers, and begin the new year with the grace of Bhagwan,” the temple said.
Post-Diwali Events
Following the main Diwali festivities, the temple will host:
- Annakut Darshan: Wednesday, October 22, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Maha Annakut: Saturday and Sunday, October 25–26, with extended darshan hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Annakut is an ancient Vedic tradition in which devotees offer the first meal of the New Year to the deity in gratitude and devotion. The Maha Annakut features a grand offering of hundreds of vegetarian dishes, beautifully arranged and presented to the deity.
“This year, special thematic decorations and displays of sacred trees and fruits will enrich the spiritual experience,” the Mandir announced.
Families can participate through Annakut Thali Seva, donating thalis as offerings of gratitude and devotion. Registration for this seva is available on the temple website.
Visitor Guidelines
- Registration for Annakut Thali Seva or Diwali Puja does not include temple entry; a separate Mandir Visit Registration is required on the website.
- Food items, prasad, bags, and personal belongings are not allowed inside the premises.
- Visitors are encouraged to read the visitor guidelines on the website to ensure smooth entry and avoid security delays.
The BAPS Hindu Mandir, the first and only traditional Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, continues to serve as a cultural and spiritual bridge, welcoming people of all backgrounds to celebrate together in harmony.
