Dubai: On the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab, Dr. Deepak Mittal, newly appointed Ambassador of India to the UAE, along with Alpna Mittal, visited the Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara Dubai to offer prayers and participate in special ceremonies commemorating the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru.

Marking the beginning of his diplomatic tenure in the UAE, Dr. Mittal sought the blessings of the Guru at the Gurudwara. He was warmly received by Dr. Surender Singh Kandhari, Chairman, and Bubbles Kandhari, Vice Chairperson of the Gurudwara, along with members of the management committee and the Sikh community. As a gesture of respect and blessing, a Saropa (robe of honour) was presented to Dr. Mittal and Alpna Mittal.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mittal expressed his happiness at starting his tenure in the UAE under the divine blessings of the Gurudwara. He lauded the unity and devotion of the congregation and appreciated how the teachings and values of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and Indian traditions at large, are being preserved with reverence and pride. He also commended the UAE leadership for fostering a culture of tolerance and freedom, which enables people of all faiths to live, worship, and celebrate their heritage harmoniously.

Dr. Surender Singh Kandhari emphasized the significance of the Ambassador’s visit on such a holy day for both the Sikh and Indian communities. “The Gurudwara stands as a symbol of peace, service, and unity, reflecting the universal message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the timeless spirit of India. We are fortunate to practice our faith and serve humanity under the wise and benevolent guidance of this great nation,” he said.

The visit concluded with the traditional Ardas (prayer) and Langar (community meal), embodying Sikh principles of equality, humility, and service. The celebrations were filled with devotion, music, and a spirit of togetherness, resonating with Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s eternal message: “Recognize all mankind as one.”
