Dubai Police Named Champions of the UAE Rescue Challenge 2026

Dubai: Dubai Police secured first place in both the Road Accident and Trauma scenarios at the UAE Rescue Challenge 2026, reinforcing its leadership in emergency response and field readiness.
Organised by Dubai Police in cooperation with the World Rescue Organisation, the challenge took place at the training city in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai, bringing together 15 specialised teams. Participants competed in realistic simulations designed to mirror complex, real world emergencies, with the aim of benchmarking performance against leading international standards in rescue and rapid response.
The winners were honoured by Major General Dr Ahmad Zaal bin Kreshan Almuhairi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, in the presence of Major General Rashid Al Falasi, Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue, Brigadier Nabil Abdullah Al Rida, Deputy Director, and Colonel Khalid Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Director of the Search and Rescue Department and Challenge Director.
In the Road Accident Challenge, Dubai Police Team B claimed first place, followed by Dubai Police Team A in second place, while the General Directorate of Civil Defence secured third.
In the Trauma Challenge, Dubai Police achieved first place once again, followed by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services in second, and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence in third.
Major General Almuhairi congratulated the winning teams, emphasising that the challenge reflects Dubai Police’s firm commitment to strengthening an integrated system of preparedness and rapid response in line with global best practice. He noted that the event goes beyond competition, serving as a professional platform for exchanging expertise and enhancing coordination among rescue teams, ultimately improving field performance and ensuring faster, more accurate emergency response.
He praised all participating teams for demonstrating professionalism, discipline and strong team spirit, highlighting the high level of readiness maintained by rescue units across the UAE. He added that such specialised challenges represent a significant step towards promoting a culture of excellence and innovation in both policing and humanitarian operations.
The competition featured two main tracks. The Road Accident Challenge included complex and standard scenarios, with eight teams competing. The Trauma Challenge involved seven teams of paramedics responding to critical injury cases. Participating entities included Dubai Police, Civil Defence, Sharjah Civil Defence, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, National Ambulance, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and the National Guard.
Held alongside the competition was a dedicated exhibition showcasing the latest innovations in rescue operations. The exhibition highlighted advanced rescue vehicles and patrol units equipped with state of the art technologies, while encouraging knowledge exchange between participating government and private sector organisations to further enhance emergency response capabilities in line with the highest international standards.
