Dubai:The Dubai Police has launched a "Thank You" drive to praise efforts of hotels' employees in implementing precautionary measures advised by the government to combat the novel coronavirus.

The initiative also conveyed a message of appreciation to dedicated hospitality employees for they have been carrying out special preparations aimed at welcoming the emirate's visitors and tourists in the upcoming summer season.  

Colonel Dr Mubarak Saeed Salem Bin Nawas Al Ketbi, director of Tourist Police Department at Dubai Police, said the initiative is in line with Dubai Police keenness to maintain reliable communication channels between Dubai hotels and the force. "Dubai Police is keen on providing necessary support to this vital industry, whether in the form of security services, raising awareness or providing guidance," he said.

Col Al Ketbi headed a delegation from the Tourist Police Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation to some Dubai Hotels across the emirate, where they reviewed implemented safety and precautionary measures.

The delegation also briefed hotel representatives on recommended security measures and the role of Tourism Police in securing Dubai visitors. "We also made sure that the hotels were briefed on smart services provided by Dubai Police at the SPS (Smart Police Station) and other means to reach us any time in case of emergency," Col.  Al Ketbi concluded.
