Dubai: The General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police has recently received a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior. 

The delegation, headed by Dr Sami Jalal Hussain, Director General of the Ministry of Interior's Office, was welcomed by Colonel Juma Salem Obaid Bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic, who stressed the Dubai police's keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination between both parties, and the exchange of experiences and information that mutually benefit both bodies. 

Col. Bin Suwaidan introduced the Iraqi delegation to the Department's tasks and duties, which are carried out to maintain safety on the roads and reduce accident and fatality rates. 

The delegation visited the operations room at the General Department of Traffic, where they learned about the smart monitoring systems in traffic management in the emirate. They were briefed on the mechanism of the smart CCTVs that are programmed and used to detect road violators and issue fines automatically. 

The Iraqi delegation were also introduced to the High-Tec cameras that track down wanted vehicles in traffic and criminal cases. 

Towards the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and praised Dubai Police's utilizing the latest technologies.
