Dubai Police Named Top Supporter of Voluntary Work at Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work

Dubai: The General Command of Dubai Police has secured first place in the "Best Entity/Individual Supporting Voluntary Work" category among government organisations at the 21st edition of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work.

The Award honours the institution's volunteering policy, which includes the issuance of a community volunteering guide that encourages organisational units and employees to engage in voluntary work.

Additionally, Dubai Police earned second place for its "Positive Spirit" initiative, which aims to enhance the quality of life, promote social harmony, and foster a happy life in residential neighbourhoods through various programs and activities.

The awards were received by a delegation from Dubai Police during a ceremony under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council and attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah, at the Theater of the International Organizations Center for Islamic Heritage at the Institute of Heritage in Sharjah.

Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, received the award trophies, accompanied by Major Khalid Al Suwaidi, Director of Community Relations, Fatima Bouhejier, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council, Helal Al Sri, and the team from the General Department of Community Happiness.

Al Mansouri dedicated the recognition to His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, for his continuous support of the volunteering approach within Dubai Police, which seeks to embed volunteering among employees and provide the necessary facilities for them, alongside the Council of Happiness and Positivity.

Al Mansouri emphasised that Dubai Police remains committed to enhancing, establishing, and developing the volunteer system, believing in the importance of the spirit of humanitarian work, and achieving stability, happiness, and quality of life in the community through encouraging volunteering and organising and implementing community initiatives and activities in residential neighbourhoods that promote social harmony.

He extended his gratitude and appreciation to all Dubai Police employees, including the general departments, police stations, units supporting volunteering, and the Positive Spirit Council, for their efforts in elevating these initiatives to match Dubai Police's pioneering position in various fields, including community work.
