Dubai: International Fashion Runway is yet another new contender on Dubai's ever-expanding stage as a showcase for global fashion. Despite the open & free invitation to experience their bold decision to hold the event at the vast expo hall of Dubai's World Trade Centre, they managed not only to pull off a tour de force but to actually make the huge space seem too small for Saturday's spectacular. After an extended game of celebrity musical chairs and some ruffled feathers, Modelesque was afforded a perfect VIP view of the evening's entertainment and we were not to be disappointed.  

Not only were many of the region's top designers invited, but the show production and acoustics were stunningly executed, with incredible sets and artistic choreography from the opening double act of Maison Gamil's elegant menswear & Hany El Behairy's 'Disney-esque' collection which would transform any wedding into a magical occasion.  This would have seemed impossible to upstage, but soon after, the sumptuous style of Ouaoud's evening dresses was taken to a heightened sensory dimension by the fragrances of Erkan & Gorgiya. We would have loved to capture some more iconic images of the show, but for the excited form of an overzealous cameraman who impeded our view for much of the evening.

The ambitions of the founder Neha Silva seem to have come to fruition, although a halftime break would have been welcome to catch our breath and chatter excitedly about the style & substance of this latest incarnation of Dubai magic.
